4001 is a Kato SD70mac it has a DCC chip instaled.
I have 9 SD70mac's. There where only 7 different road numbers produced 2 from KATO UAS #4001 and #4014 and 5 from Athearn #4003, #4006, #4008, #4011 and #4015. The two extra units are a #4006 and #4011 these units where picked up for a bargain and where interned to be renumbered. My goal is to install DCC in all of my SD70mac's. Half with sound and the other half DCC only, unless I find a bargain. The way I see it only the lead loco needs sound.
